COOLMAX®

What are the benefits of better breathability? For you, it might just mean less sweat. But in reality, it is much more. More breathable footwear helps prevent accidents and injuries.

Generally, the optimum thermal conditions inside footwear should range between 28°C to 34°C, with a relative humidity of 60%–65%. Protective footwear, however, is often constructed in a way that makes it impossible to transport heat and perspiration. This leads to increased humidity, which you will feel as discomfort.

Your body’s thermal balance goes out of whack, you can heat up fast, even experience hyperthermia, which results in physical and mental fatigue.
Besides, the moist and warm environment is ideal for odour-causing bacteria to multiply. It makes your skin’s pH more alkaline which promotes the growth of fungi, causing athlete’s foot and other skin diseases. At the same time humidity makes the skin swell and this makes it more susceptible to abrasions, blisters and other injuries.

Last but not least, bacteria create nasty odour and the materials deteriorate much quicker. As a consequence, the liners, footbed, mid and even the outer soles start to break down and your boot goes to waste much quicker.
